Recently got back from PGCon East 2010 where I gave a talk on integrating PostGIS in Web Applications. Leo gave an intro tutorial to PostGIS, but he did his with live demos and no slides. Brave man he is. His talk went well without a hitch, but of course he has no slides to show for his efforts and people chuckled when he attempted to correlate the chubbiness of kids relative to proximity of fast food joints to schools in Philadelphia.
I on the other hand, did the usual tried and true slide gig. You can find them Integrating PostGIS in Web applications slides. I intentionally crammed a lot on each slide with the hopes that it would be more useful afterward than it was during the presentation. Unfortunately the projection was not as big as I had hoped so that my large reams of code were somewhat hard to make out and even harder to explain.
I also felt somewhat awkward when I had fairly large reams of C# and VB.NET ASP.NET code, and hmm no one in the audience used .NET. I did have some PHP code thrown in there too. Well hopefully it will be of use to some people.
Our other presentations are on our presentations page. Hoepfully Leo will at some point put up his code scripts and data samples.
